004“Not Another Food Pron?”
posted by cibol on January 17th, 2008
My last day in Miri. I wanted to have some dim sum badly. I really missed the one I had in Jalan Ipoh. So guess what? We went to the ever famous and super jam packed like sardines - Wawasan 2020. This is no ordinary vision but one hell of a vision I tell you. We arrived around 9:30 am. And guess what?

Full ..

Also full ..
Then finally we found a table which is not that comfy but we have to make do with it or else we’ll be starving to death. I mean it. I was really really hungry. After a while the, waiter came. We ordered and waited …

Ten minutes - I’m bored and starving

Twenty minutes - Jerry got to go to work in an hour. Still, no sign

Twenty five minutes - Jack is bored

And so is Roger …
So, we decided to just leave the place and head for the shop on the other side. Looks a little less busier than 2020. So, we thought it’s ok la. We were starving and we really need food a.s.a.p

So we went to this shop called -Pelita Hai ma Food Center. The dim sum we ordered was not bad. All on Jerry - Yeah!

Really it was not that bad but still 2020 would be nicer.

Additional stuff that we ordered. I don’t know what the hell is that. Overall the meal was ok but I must warn you of the fried mee and all - It sucks big time!
Roger : Err .. Is this a trademark of this place? Tasteless … ****!

Not that they want to let us to wait that long. There was so many people. The seating places takes up 3 shop lots. Yeah, I can’t wait to go for dim sum again.

I’ve been searching for the meat ball dim sum here in KK and couldn’t find any anymore, and I found them in Miri! OoH, waiting anxiously to my next trip to Miri…
Let me know when you’re in Miri. I won’t have any problem going up there to meet up with you. Wawasan 2020 is a really nice dim sum place but bear in mind that you really have to wait la because it’s always super pack!

January 18th, 2008 at 11:10 pmHey cibol, where is this 2020 shop located? I had my dim sum somewhere in Pelita Commercial Centre - don’t remember the name of the shop and you only mentioned the road’s name here, which is totally alien to me too hehe
2020 is somewhere around Pelita Commercial Centre. Might be that place you’ve been to.
You mean Jalan Ipoh is it? Jalan Ipoh is in KL. I always had my dim sum there

January 19th, 2008 at 12:57 pmYou moved to your own dot com!! Congrats!!!
Btw, next time, I suggest you go a bit further than 2020.. go to Grand Palace Hotel for dim sum! A meal for 4-5 may hit RM100, but definitely worth it. Also quite packed like sardines. Miri is really lacking of dim sum places.
Yes, I know the place. I wanted to go there actually but considering I have two underage kids who don’t have money under my belt I decided not to go.
So, next time we can go if you’re back hoh ..
