021“Kung-Fu Fghting?”

posted by cibol on February 5th, 2008

Another thing popped up in my email today. Remember last time I blog about Hindustan Films? Right, I bet you remember. Now, this fella forward me another email about Kung Fu movies. I presume that everyone knows what’s kung-fu right? Yup, that’s the one. Jackie Chan, Bruce Lee and not Rambo ok?

Watching Kung Fu movies in the olden days are like reading comics. You know those comics like Pendekar Laut, Pendekar Sakti all those comics that we used to read back in high school days. That Storm Riders was a big hit back then. Now when it comes to watching Kung Fu movies, you will notice these few things :

1. Being the hero’s parents will always be unlucky and usually will be killed by the enemies when the hero is still a young boy and it often occur that the hero will most probably be an orphan or so.

2. When a man is wounded and dying, he will always manage to catch his breath and speak a few words or sentences to reveal who is the killer before dropping his head down and declared, dead.

3. Otai Otai are able to fly over roof tops, flying up in the trees and across distances without dropping a single sweat but you see ah, when travelling to towns and villages, they will still have to push their way through the crowded pasar ikan or maybe ride horses - Always horses, not donkey or anything else.

4. The heroes need not have to work for money but will always have gold and silver with them to pay for their food and they won’t beg for money even if they’re the king of the beggars, or the taikos from the beggars clan.

5. The heroes and villains will always, I repeat always meet each other no matter how big the country is and no matter where they are. It’s just like they only have one road that leads to a place to another and they will always bumped into each other. China is so damn big for God sake!!!

6. Healing internal wounds is as easy as sitting down, cross-legged, palms on the knees and then smoke coming out from the head. How simple is that?

7. They can keep a lot of stuffs in their sleeves and waistband (i.e : bao, axe, bo, staff, a van can fit in even) and will never drop a thing even if they dance like Michael Jackson and the sometimes have tools inside it either. It’s like they have this Doraemon pocket!

Love em or hate em - I still like Wong Fei Hung. Watchaaaa!!!!!

Waiting for this one, also kung fu la …
