“Of Handphones and Cameras and Adverts”

Small talk : My RSS feed ok liw. Thanks to Alvin. Bah, next time if you’re around I belanja you kampua hor ..

There are two things that I really want at this moment. I think it’s so very crucial that I have these two things. A new handphone and a camera.

Why handphone?

Because Suituapui wants to MMS me but I said I can’t received MMS, I’m using my ice aged old Nokia 3310 and I’m so jealous that Suituapui can online from handphone …

Not that la really. I’ve been saying that I wanted a new handphone but then I got my Ibanez first rather than a new phone. So much of a - Which one I need, which one I want conflict of interest. So you see, my judgment also sometimes so sot one!

Why a camera?

I see Bengbeng’s new camera I got so jealous. Mrs BB gave for valentine’s day some more! Aiseh, I say this uncle still very lomantik one hoh ..

You see, what a poor blogger without a camera? so susah like this …

Eying this one at the moment. I went to SenQ at Delta Mall the other day and saw this baby ..

Wah .. I like!

Now, pity me pity me pity me .. This month spend a lot already. Air ticket and Jay Chou’s concert already half of my salary gone. So, spare me some money? Ha ha ha .. Really want to know how this nuffnang works. Somebody must and must tell me!

I’ve been putting it up like since a few months ago. I hear people here and there received adverts request but I didn’t. So I got frustrated a bit la. Not a bit but a lot actually. Dah la the adverts makes my blog loads so damn slow and then I only get RM 0.15 cents from my nuffnang and RM 4.00++ from my advertlets. I say bye bye to advertlets and grab my ass ads already la. No point putting something that is redundant to my blog.

I wonder also la sometimes, you know people say 50 hits enuff already to get paid but then I have like 120 hits daily maybe but also no use. I almost scrapped off everything but then Clare actually persuaded me not to throw away nuff. So, ok la. I abide. I heard she say she got cash out money some times ago so I also go gaga over it la. Give nuff another try la .. So as Clare said, she saved nuffnang from losing a nuffnanger.

Blah … Go play play now! Enough complaining … *sigh*

This post is dedicated to kopi soh and angeles.

In response to Kopi Soh’s request for singing a song for them, I actually really wanted to sing some songs for you people la but then hor .. maybe because of too much of pantun on cocka-doodle I lost my voice liw.

Since everyone has been putting up songs all very romantic one, most of them in English so today I decided to go with something different. How about an Iban song? I’m sure many of us don’t really know how does this language sounds like. So hor .. I’m taking kopi soh and angeles onto stage and let’s all joget together with this song. Ha ha ha ..

By the way just as an intro : This song is sang by Ricky El, the guy is quite femes here. Don’t play play hor … Now I will try my very best to traslate the song to all of you. Ha ha ha .. Enjoy!

Bujang Runggu Ensing

Kasih meh tudah diri
(oh so pity of me)
Bangat nadai pemandai
(not so clever in studies)
Enda landik di tunjuk jari
(teach oso no use)
Tusah amai ka ngiga bini
(so hard to find a wife)

Indu dara amat lawa
(all the leng lui so sombong)
Enggai ka laki nadai kereja
(don’t wan people who don’t have job)
Enti aku tu nyadi Cigu
(If I am a teacher)
Nya baru sida setuju
(then only they will agree)

Nadai ngawa ku lama bujang
(It’s ok if I become a bachelor for so long time)
Asal ati aku terperindang
(as long as I’m happy)
Enda iboh dikumbai Bujang Skrang
(no need to lebel me as Bujang skrang)

Ila meh aku kereja
(in the future I will work)
Ngagai tasik saudi arabia
(Go oversea to Saudi Arabia)
Gaji besai, duit di bai ku pulai
(Big pay, money I bring home)

Baru sida ya nemu
(then only they know)
Nyesal diri enggai ka aku
(feel so rugi last time dunwan me)
Taja pan nadai pemandai
(Eventhough I don’t do well in study)
Ulih ga nyadi tauke besai
(I can also become big tauke)

Di peda ta runggu ensing
(See me like a sick bird)
Ti terebai apus ga sungai
(If I fly, can last the long strecth of the river)
Indu dara nyau nyeling nyeling
(All leng lui’s eyes now on me)
Agi laku ga bujang tuai
(This old bachelor still laku one after all)

P/S : Suituapui, I know you terrer kala-oke wan. come up and sing. Got lyrics liw!!

“All About Loving You”

You, You and You .. yes You! So, it’s Valentine. Every now and then since a few days ago and for the next two days you’d probably come across blogs talking about Valentine’s Day. Love is in the air .. so is the blogosphere. Somebody text-ed me the other day asking :

Why no Valentine’s post dude? So not like you

That was only one of many.

To tell you the truth, I was just so uninspired to write about it now.

It’s like a tradition, every Valentine’s Day I will have something to tell, some stories and most of them are personal. be it my personal experiences or friends and today I have simply nothing to tell. Maybe because nowadays I don’t really look forward to Valentine’s Day and maybe, I don’t date that much as I used to (kidding)!

I was talking to a friend yesterday and I asked her what are her plans for Valentine. She told me that she’ll probably just be in her room, finishing and adding some touch up for her upcoming presentation but somehow the way she put it - I can just feel the frustrations.

Sometimes we say things we don’t really mean. Like for instant, you might have heard a lot of people saying :

Valentine’s Day is just like any other day

But the truth is, sometimes you can just sense the I-wanted-to-but-what-can-I-do? aura around them. Am I wrong to say that? I don’t think so.

So I thought to myself, if I were there I will make your day a little brighter on Valentine’s Day. I was laughing and smiling at the idea for some times. Not that I go gaga all over it but then you these thoughts just crawl into my mind and it made me smile. At least I have something to do on valentine’s Day. But I already told Kopi Soh that I would just lean back and enjoy the melodies on Valentine’s Day. Maybe I’ll do just that.

But if I’m not, would you be my Valentine?

“My New Year’s Fortune Cookie”

We went for visiting during the second day of Chinese new Year. Bengbeng brought me to the Beverly Hills of Sibu, not really la but somehow all of the houses there looks super nice that’s why I called it Beverly Hills!

So I guess it’s true hor .. Sibu got lotsa tycoons around. See the houses? It’s like mansions, not house anymore. So nice to be rich (quoted this from Suituapui’s sms)

We went to Bengbeng’s friends place. We were given fortune cookies! This is my first time being given a fortune cookie.

The Fortune Cookie is a crisp cookie made from flour, sugar, butter, vanilla, and milk which is baked around a fortune, a piece of paper with words of faux wisdom or vague prophecy. Throughout the western world, it is usually served with Chinese food in Chinese-American restaurants as a dessert. The message inside may also include a list of lucky numbers (used by some as lottery numbers) and a Chinese phrase with translation. Fortune cookies in their current form were first served in California by immigrants who based the cookie on a traditional Japanese cracker. The cookies are little-known in mainland China or Taiwan.

That’s according to wiki

So we open up our fortune cookies. Bengbeng took three tries before getting one because he kept on getting the “No Fortune” cookies. :)

And that’s what my fortune cookie have to say :

A Journey to A Thousand Miles Begins With One step

Something to ponder on …

“Meeting Sibu Very Own Simon Yam”

I was actually supposed to go back on the 9th of February as I was thinking that I might need a day rest before work on Monday but on second thoughts, I decided to stay for another day in Sibu to meet the most talk about personality in the blogosphere, Sibu very own Simon yam, Suituapui! and yes, I finally met this guy.

We decided to meet up at Ruby’s for lunch on Sunday. I must say, meeting STP in real life and in the blogosphere is so VERY much different but nonetheless, I am glad to have finally met him. I got star strucked liaw!

Ruby Restaurant : Table for three

The First Dish : Fried Mee Suah

The Second Dish : Cangkok Manis (Locals call it that way)

The Third Dish : Mayonnaise Lamb
Suituapui : It could be better with lemon.
I couldn’t agree more.

The Fourth Dish : Butter Scotch Prawn

The Fifth Dish : I forgot but I think got yam in it (Not Simon Yam la)

What a lunch. A bit extravagant for my not so big tummy but the food was fantastic.

Eh, I got ang pow!! - I am actually still feeling awkward that I am still receiving ang pow at this age. So, tua ledi still got ang pow but whatever it is, thank you STP!

Finally, the canceled Sibu Bloggers Meet did happen after all. I was pretty much excited about it as this is my first time having a gathering of “dot.coms“. Don’t play play oh. It was originally scrapped out of this year’s MOST HAPPENING BLOGGERS EVENT calendar due to the difficulties that we had when it comes to picking up dates for the event itself.

The meet was arranged by The Big Boss. We have been planning this for quite a while and seeing it finally happened was quite a relief. Amongst the bloggers who made it for the gath was Bengbeng, Clare, Bongkersz, WongPK and Clement. The meet was arranged at Muhibbah - Final Destination!

The main man, the one that everyone was dying to meet (suituapui la, who else) was in Penang that time (But I finally met him today though) Here are some of the pics that we took during the gath!

From left to right : Clement, me, Bongkersz
Sitting : Natalia, Clare
Not in the picture : Bengbeng, WongPK

WongPK got a movie to catch up, so we proceed till the end without him. He ditched us for some chics! Darn it!

Some snacks for the gathering. I’m sure it will dull without food - but will be 1000 times dull if without Clare and Natalia

The night would not be complete without having fun and of course some fine wine. We decided to crash at The Dixie Chic’s place. That was where all the fun began.

The peeps! Rock On!

Hands got itchy, play guitar lor ..

Clement in “tauke” mode

Hurm .. Irristable ka? Oittt …

Me and Nat - The Big Little Bully

This is one event that I would really hold dearly to my heart. - Chewahhh!

I’ll leave you with a clip from the gath, courtesy of Bengbeng. To Man-D and Melbie, nah - My MV singing live. Enjoy!

“Hey .. Good Cooking”

The first day of Chinese New Year. I am actually very much excited because to be honest this is my first time to be celebrating it as in really experiencing the mood, flows of the season in a very Chinese way. Maybe not traditionally but staying with a a family that celebrates it gives a little bit of the vibe of how the Chinese celebrates Chinese New Year. - I hope you got what I’m trying to say because seriously, I myself wasn’t very sure of what the hell was I saying.

Now, I was uploading some pictures to my flickr when Bengbeng popped a question :

Bengbeng : Do you cook?
me : I do. A little
Bengbeng : What can you cook?
me : Meat la, not really into veges
Bengbeng : Ok, let’s do some cooking

Ok, make that two questions then …

So, we had fun in the kitchen preparing food and stuffs. We make sure that Mrs BB will not have to do a thing this Chinese New Year. We want her to relax a bit. The cooking continues!

We actually have a few dishes to cook. I actually prepared “Ayam Masak Merah” and the “Bawal Hitam with Sweet Stewed Sauce“. As I am not really ready with a lot of stuffs so I’ll just make things simple but nice for everyone.

Ayam Masak Merah (with dried mushroom)
This is one of my favourite dish to cook. Why? Because it’s simple and not much things to do.

Bawal Hitam with Sweet Stewed Sauce.

This one is a classic. I love it. Bengbeng bought a packet of Sweet Stewed Sauce but none of us have ever tried using it before. So, I just thought that it would be nice if it can go nicely together with the Bawal Hitam. I mixed it with tomato sauce and some chili paste. The results, yummy!

That was the main dishes. We prepared a few other side dishes such as

Scrambled Eggs

Lobak masin soup with some seaweed

And some acar!

We had a nice lunch at home before we proceed to the visiting and stuffs. Will be back with more updates from Sibu!

Cheers, to the new year!

P/S : Suituapui, you missed a lot of the good stuffs here. LOL

Haven’t had the time to really sit down and blog. Just an update, I’m in Sibu at the moment - experiencing Chinese New Year in a whole new environment. I’ll leave you with a footage of last night’s fireworks courtesy of Bengbeng’s camera. I have to be honest, I’m a poor blogger with no camera!

Enjoy the show and wishing all of you a prosperous and joyful new year!

P/S : Suituapui, where’s my ang pow? I come here you go away .. *sigh*

“Looks Like It, Sounds Like It … For God Sake!”

I had a chat with a friend last night. No, nothing personal. She’s not my girlfriend nor “personal friend”. She’s just a friend. Enough of that bull.

We were talking about how ridiculous people can be, especially the HK people when it comes to choosing an English name. We had some laughs …

We call it – “The Name Sake

Why? Just because it sounds English so it’s an English name. Yer rite!

Oh, for God sake! English names for Hong Kong Chinese range from traditional to inventive to downright bizarre. Maybe I’m not the very first person to blog about this nor that I’m the first to notice this but I bet we all agree that for them – As long as it sounds nice and English, it fits. Somehow I think that’s rather absurd and downward stupid.

The name Bobo just strucked me last night. Why? Because everyone have been talking about how horny she was when she … I better not go into details. Bobo, what does that reminds you? Bodo, Bozo, Bobo the Bozo, yes you are. Bobo is a big joke .. Above all for heaven’s sake and God, it hurts to be you. I’ve been reminded by this friend of mine that this femes blogger actually said that in his little snippets. No, I’m not going to put his link here because some people might think that I’m a hit whore. Just to tell you that I’m not, so be it. Heck I care, maybe we just think alike – coincidently that is and so because I said I will blog about this thus, I did just that.

I hope none of you here fall to that category, if you are .. man I just don’t know what to say. I pity you. You know how sad it is to be named Mango? It’s like living under the curse of a living nightmare and what more for you to be given the name Dick, like Dick Lam. Maybe it’ll sound hornier if you put “Y” to it and it becomes Dicky. Here Dicky, Dicky! And Rocky as in the Rocky – Stallone movie, is often reserved for pets. Like a dog, a bulldog named Rocky! If your surname is Chan, don’t ever use Isabella or Bella as your first name. For God sake even the English don’t named themselves Mango or fruit or apple - what more to say ciku, langsat or rambutan? Don’t you think that trying very hard to be different sometimes just make you look stupid? Or in this case, sounds stupid.

I came across names like Fruit Chan, Mango Chan, Cassanova Wong .. For fuck’s sake why can’t they come out with a more proper name? I mean even if it sounds English doesn’t mean that it fits as an English name. Haih, some more got Yoyo! You know what? I do realize that people find it hard to pronounce my name as in my real name but it is an English name. I’m not saying that my parents are cool or what but at least they give it a deep thought before giving me the name and I do believe our parents are like that too but these people, just don’t get it. What a joke!

I tell you what, Clitoris sounds like a very nice and a sweet name and it’s English, why not?

“Kung-Fu Fghting?”

Another thing popped up in my email today. Remember last time I blog about Hindustan Films? Right, I bet you remember. Now, this fella forward me another email about Kung Fu movies. I presume that everyone knows what’s kung-fu right? Yup, that’s the one. Jackie Chan, Bruce Lee and not Rambo ok?

Watching Kung Fu movies in the olden days are like reading comics. You know those comics like Pendekar Laut, Pendekar Sakti all those comics that we used to read back in high school days. That Storm Riders was a big hit back then. Now when it comes to watching Kung Fu movies, you will notice these few things :

1. Being the hero’s parents will always be unlucky and usually will be killed by the enemies when the hero is still a young boy and it often occur that the hero will most probably be an orphan or so.

2. When a man is wounded and dying, he will always manage to catch his breath and speak a few words or sentences to reveal who is the killer before dropping his head down and declared, dead.

3. Otai Otai are able to fly over roof tops, flying up in the trees and across distances without dropping a single sweat but you see ah, when travelling to towns and villages, they will still have to push their way through the crowded pasar ikan or maybe ride horses - Always horses, not donkey or anything else.

4. The heroes need not have to work for money but will always have gold and silver with them to pay for their food and they won’t beg for money even if they’re the king of the beggars, or the taikos from the beggars clan.

5. The heroes and villains will always, I repeat always meet each other no matter how big the country is and no matter where they are. It’s just like they only have one road that leads to a place to another and they will always bumped into each other. China is so damn big for God sake!!!

6. Healing internal wounds is as easy as sitting down, cross-legged, palms on the knees and then smoke coming out from the head. How simple is that?

7. They can keep a lot of stuffs in their sleeves and waistband (i.e : bao, axe, bo, staff, a van can fit in even) and will never drop a thing even if they dance like Michael Jackson and the sometimes have tools inside it either. It’s like they have this Doraemon pocket!

Love em or hate em - I still like Wong Fei Hung. Watchaaaa!!!!!

Waiting for this one, also kung fu la …

Kung fu Panda anyone?
