“I Won’t Be Home For Gawai”

Ni kita petara aki, petara ini, petara apai, petara indai. Kami ngangau, kami nesau, kami madah, kami nunggah. Ni baka ke maya ari tu kami minta ampun, minta tulung, minta peda, minta tela. Awak ka kami majak mansang, bulih penyenang, bulih reta enggau pengaga. OOOOOOOOOOha …

Work

and more work ..

I hate Fridays

For fuck’s sake it’s Friday and I was still in the office at 10 p.m. Sometimes I just fucking hate my job. Maybe not to my job but maybe to the surrounding of my job. Or maybe it’s my boss. Damn it! Like I care but then yes, I do mind. I’ll take a plunge …

*sob*sob*

I won’t be home for Gawai. Just in case you all don’t know, I’m an Iban. NO, I don’t wear cawat to work, you don’t have to worry about that and I don’t live on tree tops also and most of all I am very friendly, I don’t go around head hunting if that is what you’ve heard about Ibans.

Lama amat asai enda ngena leka jako Iban ba pengidup sari ari. Enti ba endor gawa ngena jako orang putih ga, ba pasar ngena jako laut. Bala kaban belayan nadai ga nemu jako iban. Bisi ga tang enda mayoh. Munyi ko orang putih “very limited” la.

Dad called yesterday. He said that they’re back in Kampung already. Everyone seems to be in the mood for gawai back home and me, I’m stuck here in this busy metropolis doing nothing and not feeling any mood for gawai even. Isn’t it sad? It’s not that I’m not looking forward to it but yeah, there’s no place to menyalai ngot ngot here in my place, no place to ngirup pengayu. Of course there’s lotsa bar around here but that everyday also I can do what. It’s not the same with celebrating Gawai at home where booze are free, foods are freea and everything is free. I don’t have to pay charges to dance and to have fun but here I have to pay a hefty maybe around RM75 just to enter for fuck’s sake. :)

Not worth complaining. To all my Dayak friends out there wherever you are (Charyelle - You’re half dayak rite? I guess you’ll be heading back to kampung and ngirup tuak also) I just would like to wish all of you :

Selamat Hari Gawai, Gayu Guru Gerai Nyamai, Lantang Senang Nguan Menoa

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOhaaaaaaa

“I Got U”

I’ve been working for three months now and guess what? Today, for the first time I got to go back before 7 pm. For the pass 3 months I’ve been going back late and God knows how does that feel. So teruk! You feel like so fucked up and can go down the drain anytime man. Seriously! but then I thank God that I got this job la. I’m thankful you know not that I’m not. :) Bear with it.

Since that now I got my internet install at home I guess I can beat STP for posting! STP, step aside. :) The other day I was wondering around Times Square after work. I know I have been seeing this U-Mobile booth sitting there for quite a while but what i never really did was to look inside. And so, I took a peep. So there was this guy, an Indian in his mid 20’s, maybe around 24-27 judging by the looks - took me for a tour inside of their booth. So he explain to me the whole package, broadband, telco and what not but I shut him up by saying:

“I’m only interested on the broadband and if I sign up today how fast can I get connected?”

He stopped for a while and said

“Within 24 hours, Sir”

“And only RM50 rite?”

“Yes, Sir”

“No hanky panky extra service charge or modem charge like steamyx rite?”

“No, Sir”

The starter pack!

The modem, not my hands

I know la now steamyx got nice package, this and that but then TM Click so damn far who want to visit? Not convenient for me to go there wor .. So I apply lor. So that’s how I got my internet lor.

Speaking of internet, I read something on yahoo just now.

Week Ending May 25, 2008: David Vs. David, The Showdown Moves To The Charts
Posted Wed May 28 12:22pm PDT by Paul Grein in Chart Watch

David Cook and David Archuleta take their friendly competition from the set of American Idol to the national pop charts. Cook places a staggering 17 songs on the top 200 Hot Digital Songs chart. His bevy of hits includes the new #1, “Time Of My Life,” which opens with a healthy total of 236,000 downloads. Cook’s 17 entries have a combined total of 944,000 paid downloads. I don’t think he’ll need to go back to bar tending anytime soon.

Wah, so good ah? Well, honestly I do think he’s good. He sings the type of music that I like to hear, I mean Archuletta is just another Clay Aiken to me. And Bongkersz told me that he’s mormonic. Speaking of which it kinda reminds me of some people from that particular church trying to explain to me how the church exist and the funniest thing he said was :

“Do you know that after Jesus resurrected he went to America?”

I was like .. ERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!

I gave him a grin and the another guy was more interested on my Slipknot shirt. I was like WTF is all this Jesus went to America bullshit man? Okay, maybe that was a bit too much for me to take. No joke, it’s no joke I tell you. I’ll rest my case.

We were talking about both David rite? Yeah, I know STP was dissapointed but then Archuletta is just not the right market for America I guess. Nevermind, he still have a lot to learn. Cook actually reminded me of Lifehouse. He got that kinda voice, rock, shabby sounding .. I don’t now but I like. I thought the You Will Always Be My Baby was a bomb! That’s very creative! I just can’t get enough of the song.

Circumcision Checked!

When I was in OPD, often I met cases of young boys having STDs. I was getting curious as why young boys at an early age as twelve years old can be infected (takkan so hiao? :P) Judging the naive look of the boys (deceiving maybe?) and education level I suspected something. I asked few of my senior colleagues, they explained to me most of them get sexual disease due to bad hygiene…They put it as ‘the thing look like potato wedges, masin’…Hurm, whatever that suppose to mean…

Anyway the best thing to go would be circumcision. Yes, circumcision. Here in Malaysia, you have it safely (ahem) done by “professional” imams or through surgery in hospitals. Free for those done in ’surau’ and RM60 in hospitals.

Some do it for religious purposes, some do it for fun…

Some go for it..some still debated it..check this out http://www.icgi.org .

I find it rather amusing

Talking about it, somebody forwarded me an sms the other day and I thought it was .. well, nice to thing to share. :)

Title: Snake Bite

The Erecterius Troserius is the world’s most dangerous snake. Colour varies from pink to black. It is fang-less. 3 to 9 inches long depending on subspecies. Usually appears in bedrooms and unusual places at times. Attacks women in the lower abdominal area. Its highly venomous spit can cause prolonged swelling lasting nine months. It has also been known to attack men from behind!!!

Promises meant to be broken?…You’ll be the judge of that..Last night, we were singing this song…the lyric so catchy..

Janji Padamu by Exists

Tiada ku sangka sejak detik itu

Kau membuka pintu kamar di hatiku

Cinta yang terhampar suatu tika dulu

Bersinar kembali

Andainya dikau mencuri hatiku

Dengan kejujuran dan tingkahlakumu

Memberikan aku satu keyakinan

Mendungkan berlalu

Chorus:

Akan ku pertahankan cinta ini

Demi kesetiaan ku padamu

Akan ku tempuhi onak duri

Demi untukmu bidadari

Percayalah janjiku ini

Andainya kau jauh dariku

Dekat di hatiku

Andainya kau yang pergi dulu

Hampalah cintaku

Jangan tinggalkanku

Jangan persiakan cinta yang murni

Repeat chorus

Andainya kau jauh dariku

Dekat di hatiku

Andainya kau yang pergi dulu

Hampalah cintaku

Jangan tinggalkanku

Jangan persiakan cinta yang murni

MAS - Mana Ada Sistem?

I was particularly, extremely upset with the manner that Malaysia Airlines (MAS) was handling my case. I booked a ticket online from KL-Miri last two weeks. Something happened along the way, the payment didn’t go through. So, I thought everything was not through and so I said to myself that it’s okay. I’ll try some other time. I really wanted that seat because it would cost me only RM240.00 which is actually very cheap for MAS. A few moments after that, there’s this one lady from reservation called me up saying that they’ve received my booking but not the payment. So, I asked the lady …

“So how can we go about this?”

“Give me your credit card details”

And so there I go, I gave her my credit card details and she said I will be receiving an email from them after 2 days. I was wondering why two days and not in another 2 minutes? So I thought, maybe MAS procedure is like that. Since it’s the biggest airlines in Malaysia I guess they do things differently. I do understand that every organizations have their own way of going out and about when it comes to handling customer or the term that I would like to use - operations.

So I waited …

2nd day …

No news

4th day

No news

7th day ..

No news

So I called the reservation

I kept on getting put on hold by the bloody answering machine…

So, yesterday I went to MAS counter at KL Sentral. I asked the person in charge to check on the status of my booking. He keyed in all the data and came back to me saying that there was no booking made. You know how frustrating can that be?

And how could the reservations department got my booking but the operations don’t have it? And how could all these possibly be? I was annoyed. Really annoyed. So I asked the the fella, I know he knows nothing about it.

“How could this be?”

His answer is simple,

“I don’t know”

You know how stupid is that answer?

“How could the reservation department got my booking but you don’t have it in the system? How do you actually run the whole system? Why is it not tele? I came all the way here from home and the best answer that you can provide me is you don’t know?”

He just smiled and told me,

“I’m afraid that you have to make a new booking altogether”

New booking your ass. You know how much the differences? RM618 for a re-booking. Do you think I’m crazy? No, I’m not you dickhead! I walked away from that counter - annoyed, feeling like killing people. MAS sucks donkey’s c**k big time!

MAS - Mana Ada Sistem company.

I straight away asked Lily to get me a ticket online from Air Asia, I got it for RM295. But it’s worth it I tell you, because they don’t waste my time like MAS did. I start to wonder what kinda of a system that they’re using? Oh, wait a minute, it is damn obvious! They are using the most efficient and kick ass system in the world - Mana Ada System? (MAS).

Simple things like this MAS cannot do it right, how to make it big? In any organization, the most important thing is to make your customers happy, forget about having this and that shits. Make them happy, and they will spread the good words for you and you are on your way to 7th heaven. Congratulation, MAS is on the right path to success.

I’ll rest my case.

As I was walking from work to the Hang Tuah station, suddenly this lovely song came into my mind. I was never really a big fan of Leann Rimes but then it was this particular song that kept me captivated. The song that reminds me of how much I long for someone, how much I missed that special someone. I smiled, walking away.

It doesn’t really stop there. I kept on playing and playing in my mind until I sleep. Maybe, I need you .. so bad.

I don’t need a lot of things
I can get by with nothing
Of all the blessings life can bring
I’ve always needed something
But I’ve got all I want
When it comes to loving you
You’re my only reason
You’re my only truth

I need you like water
Like breath, like rain
I need you like mercy
From heaven’s gate
There’s a freedom in your arms
That carries me through
I need you

You’re the hope that moves me
To courage again
You’re the love that rescues me
When the cold winds, rage
And it’s so amazing
’cause that’s just how you are
And I can’t turn back now
’cause you’ve brought me too far

I need you like water
Like breath, like rain
I need you like mercy
From heaven’s gate
There’s a freedom in your arms
That carries me through
I need you
Oh yes I do

I need you like water
Like breath, like rain
I need you like mercy
From heaven’s gate
There’s a freedom in your arms
That carries me through
I need you
Oh yes I do
I need you
I need you

I’m frustrated, really I am. I was wondering around KL for the past few weeks in and out but I just can’t find the thing that I am looking for. That’s a pity! Why? Tell me why? Tell why it is so damn hard for me to get a copy of Championship Manager 01/02!

For those who knew me well enough you would know how much I just can’t live without this game. It’s like the greatest game ever created in the world - if you like football. To hell with Winning Eleven, To Hell with Football Manager, it was the one by EIDOS and SI that creates the madness all around the world. Good God! Where the hell are they now?

“Jacob’s Creek”

I might not have the best say when it comes to wine but I must say I have develop a liking for Jacob’s Creek. Roy brought home some wine over the weekend. I always love wine, sweet.

Jacob’s Creek is an Australian wine brand that is exported to over 60 countries. It is owned and produced by Orlando Wines in the small township of Rowland Flat in the Barossa Valley. In 1847 Johann Gramp, the founder of Orlando Wines, planted some of the first grape vines in the Barossa Valley along the banks of Jacob’s Creek. Over a century later, in 1976, a 1973 vintage Shiraz Cabernet Malbec became the first wine to be released under the Jacob’s Creek label.

The brand formerly sponsored many events, including the Tour Down Under, but ended sponsorship in 2006 to return to traditional means of promotion, namely television and radio. However, naming rights have been retained for the Jacob’s Creek Open Championship.

Now, I was curious on how actually do you know how to determine whether the wine is nice or not so nice. So, I googled up on the net and found this. So I would like to share with you guys. Some tips on wine tasting, eventhough I never really tried it before - I go one go on everything, nice or not belakang kira.

Here’s How:

1. Look: Check out the Color and Clarity. Pour a glass of wine into a suitable wine glass. Then take a good look at the wine. Tilt the glass away from you and check out the color of the wine from the rim edges to the middle of the glass (it’s helpful to have a white background - either paper, napkin or a white tablecloth).

What color is it? Look beyond red, white or blush. If it’s a red wine is the color maroon, purple, ruby, garnet, red, brick or even brownish? If it’s a white wine is it clear, pale yellow, straw-like, light green, golden, amber or brown in appearance?

2. Still Looking. Move on to the wine’s opacity. Is the wine watery or dark, translucent or opaque, dull or brilliant, cloudy or clear? Can you see sediment? Tilt your glass a bit, give it a little swirl - look again, is there sediment, bits of cork or any other floaters? An older red wine will be more translucent than younger red wines.

3. Smell: Our sense of smell is critical in properly analyzing a glass of wine. To get a good impression of your wine’s aroma, gently swirl your glass (this helps vaporize some of the wine’s alcohol and release more of its natural aromas) and then take a quick whiff to gain a first impression.

4. Still Smelling: Now stick your nose down into the glass and take a deep inhale through your nose. What are your second impressions? Do you smell oak, berry, flowers, vanilla or citrus? A wine’s aroma is an excellent indicator of its quality and unique characteristics. Gently swirl the wine and let the aromas mix and mingle, and sniff again.

5. Taste: Finally, take a taste. Start with a small sip and let it roll around your tongue. There are three stages of taste: the Attack phase, the Evolution phase and the Finish.

# The Attack Phase, is the initial impression that the wine makes on your palate. The Attack is comprised of four pieces of the wine puzzle: alcohol content, tannin levels, acidity and residual sugar. These four puzzle pieces display initial sensations on the palate. Ideally these components will be well-balanced one piece will not be more prominent than the others. These four pieces do not display a specific flavor per se, they meld together to offer impressions in intensity and complexity, soft or firm, light or heavy, crisp or creamy, sweet or dry, but not necessarily true flavors like fruit or spice.

# The Evolution Phase is next, also called the mid-palate or middle range phase, this is the wine’s actual taste on the palate. In this phase you are looking to discern the flavor profile of the wine. If it’s a red wine you may start noting fruit – berry, plum, prune or fig; perhaps some spice – pepper, clove, cinnamon, or maybe a woody flavor like oak, cedar, or a detectable smokiness. If you are in the Evolution Phase of a white wine you may taste apple, pear, tropical or citrus fruits, or the taste may be more floral in nature or consist of honey, butter, herbs or a bit of earthiness.

# The Finish is appropriately labeled as the final phase. The wine’s finish is how long the flavor impression lasts after it is swallowed. This is where the wine culminates, where the aftertaste comes into play. Did it last several seconds? Was it light-bodied (like water) or full-bodied (like the consistency of milk)? Can you taste the remnant of the wine on the back of your mouth and throat? Do you want another sip or was the wine too bitter at the end? What was your last flavor impression – fruit, butter, oak? Does the taste persist or is it short-lived?

6. After you have taken the time to taste your wine, you might record some of your impressions. Did you like the wine overall? Was it sweet, sour or bitter? How was the wine’s acidity? Was it well balanced? Does it taste better with cheese, bread or a heavy meal? Will you buy it again? If so, jot the wine’s name, producer and vintage year down for future reference.

“I missed you so much”

“Me too”

“I long for your touch”

“Me too”

“I want you bad”

“I want you as bad as you do, might be more than that”

“Can you heart my heart beating?”

“Yes, I do”

“They’re pounding for you”

“I placed my arms around your waist, gently pulling you up closer to my side. I can feel you, I can heart your heart pounding for me. I can feel the warmth of your body surrounding me. I missed all this. Where have you been all these while, darling?”

“I like that. Hold me tight, darling. Tonight I want to be yours, fully yours”

“And I will be yours ..”

“We shall dance in the pale moonlight”

“Those lips, I missed them. I missed taste of your lips, full of lust. How can I ever resist those lips?”

“Bite me, as I am yours and you are mine why not we make it to the fullest tonight, my love?”

“Let it be that way ..”

“We could go on and on ..”

“What have you done now?”

Small talk : Good God! I really wanted to get online badly and I wanted to write something but when I finally did .. I just don’t know what to write? How pathetic that is. I think that is what the “stay away from you blog for far too long” syndrome is doing to me.

I got a headache of how to pull of a stunning design for my bedroom. It has been two months since I stepped in KL and I only have a cabinet to put all of my clothes and a mattress to sleep on. I’ve been surveying around out and about for what I want in my bedroom, how I want it to be, color, furniture and stuffs like that but still I can’t find the right umphh to add in.

Maybe I should go to Eric Leong for advice?

Eh, sorry .. Wrong picture! Looks the same ma ..

This one correct ..

What I was planning to have is something simple, maybe just two colors like black and white or dark wood and white kinda stuffs but the simple stuffs doesn’t comes along easy too and sometimes they’re expensive. I’m trying to work on a few ideas, I get a few sample designs from wherever I can and then try to match them up with my taste - which I actually don’t really know or maybe not just yet find the right “in” for me.

Images courtesy of : bedroom designs

Something like this will be okay I guess but maybe less fancy. Minus the furry stuffs and the lightings. I like platform type beds because they’re rather low and simple. You don’t really have to worry about the squeaking sounds when you sleep or … dot dot dot .. - If you still don’t get, man I don’t know what to say.

or maybe something like this ..

I don’t really have a big space but I want everything to be inside. I was thinking of just having that modern look on it with lotsa glass, modern paintings maybe, some mirrors which kinda look appealing to me and of course - sexy! That’s important. I know you’re going to say :

“It’s a rented house, you fucking idiot!”

I know, but after long hours in the office, I just want some peace and relaxing surrounding - Which maybe some of you might not understand. Believe me, I really need that rest and peace - not rest in peace!

Some designs for small bedrooms

Some of it might be a little too fancy but I’ll try to make it simple, using whatever cheap materials that I have and try to blend the concept together to make it cheaper. It don’t have to be Harvey Norman to look nice. Just take out here and there, your own design perhaps might do just the trick. Which is cool.

I still have time to do some extra research on everything, perhaps designing it on my own. My parents will be down in KL in October, still long way to go but me baby might be coming anytime soon and of course you want to have something good at least. I still got time .. No worries!

Suddenly ..

This does look appealing to me
