084“Cibol : The Return of The Naked Chef”
posted by cibol on June 6th, 2008

It’s been a while since I had home cooked meals. Since now everything has gone up so I decided to save budget and just eat at home. I decided to make something out of ordinary for Roy and my sis. It’s good to try smething new everyday. I got this idea after watching AFC, my favourite channel on astro. I decided to combine Italian and mom’s cooking. I just thought that it will make a bomb.
Keling Menoa Chicken

Why the name Keling Menoa? Means the king of the world in Iban. That’s the only way to describe the “yummy”ness of this dish. A simple dish where I used a lot of Italian herbs such as oregano, basil, marjaram and rosemary but of course you can just get all of these in one bottle now. I used a lot of chopped garlic inside to give it more of that nice smell. I add on some cheese to eat to add some creamy taste to it and also salt and pepper as usual - No MSG please! Before putting it in the frying pan, the chicken was marinated with chopped garlic and shalots, salt and pepper and was put in the fridge. When I was about to serve the meal, I add on some mint sauce. The verdict, lovely!
Hot and Spicy Brinjal

I don’t really go all out eating brinjals. I don’t really like it actually. That day I thought of trying to persuade myself to like it by adding extra touch to what my mom always had at home. Usually mom will just fry this one with soy sauce and garlic. I decided to add some chicken meat, onions, mushroom and also dried chilli. Love the taste! I don’t really eat spicy food but this one is just a bomb.

June 6th, 2008 at 10:52 ammost girls will show the food they eat outside… looks like men are the one showing food that they cook…
Shows that how rare girls nowadays cook at home. ha ha ha .. no la. I mean maybe for girls to see girls putting up what they cook is something not so extraordinary because in our mind gilrs can cook, there’s nothing superb about that but not for men, we seldom do that because in the eyes of the community, men and cooking are two different world. The reality is, there are more male chef ot there than females.

I can cook well, but definitely not like a chef. Plus, takkan want to show off, right? Sometimes I feel like sharing photos of my cooking, but I hate doing the presentation of the food.
I think I as woman, prefer to take photos of the food we eat outside because of the presentation. People prefer to see pretty photos, right?
Have a great weekend! =)
Yup presentation is important. Then, I guess you should make it more presentable because we can’t taste it .. he he he
