125“Kenko Reflexology & Fish Spa Therapy”

posted by cibol on August 10th, 2008

I’ve always wanted to get myself a pampering, relax and stress free feet massage. Life has been pretty hectic lately and I think I need a little bit of pampering but foot reflexology services around Bukit Bintang would be a big no-no for me as I think the things are just so overhyped and – so whatever in a way.

I took leave on Friday and head to Midvalley Megamall for shopping and I suddenly saw a group of people crowding one of the outlets on the second floor of North Court, which is situated next to Jusco. I can hear people laughing, screaming and running here and there and that somehow caught my attention.

Then I realized that it is a fish spa. I was curious and at the same time feeling the eagerness to try something a little bit crazy that day. And so I went in.

Just a little bit about the fish spa – It’s a new treatment for beauty and wellness in short and they call it the Dr. Fish Spa Therapy. The way the whole thing work is just by having all the fishes biting and scrapping dead cells from your feet. It would naturally peck away all those dead and diseased skin of bathers. It is also believed to be able to ease the symptoms of those suffering from skin conditions such as psoriasis and eczema – whatever that is.

Little that I know, Kenko Reflexology & Fish Spa is the first fish spa in Malaysia and it’s written in the Malaysia Book of Records!

I was pretty much excited about it and so I paid for a 30minutes session with Dr. Fishy. A 30 minutes of Kenko Fish Spa Treatment will cost you RM38.00 and RM19 for children under the age of 12 and if you’re bringing a 4 year old it will cost you nothing but maybe his or her life because basically I don’t think any of those 4 year olds can fit in to the pool – they might die drowning or maybe die because of excessive laughing.

My tag. You need this tag to go inside the spa. It’s like a punch card s that you will know when you need to move your ass out of the place.

Photobucket

General rules and regulations that you need to now before the start of you sessions - Of course, Hygiene is the most important thing. It’s all about wellness isn’t it?

More fishes coming my way …

Arghhhhhhhh …. Fish attack!!

I was told that just to get the feel of how the thing is going to be, I will have to go to the small fish aquarium – just for an introduction. And so I thought that it would be nothing but the moment I put my feet inside the tank, I kid you not – I wanted to pee! It was so freaking ticklish that I could not stand it but of course I didn’t scream like a few others, I also want to jaga my water face nia. So I control hensem lah.

Photobucket

Then we moved on to the second tank which contains a slightly bigger sized Dr. Fish. It was not as ticklish as the ones in the first tank but this one bites. If you could not stand it you might get stomach cramp trying to hold up the geli-ness. As time goes by I guess you can adapt to the bites and you will find that it is not that bad at all compared to the one on the first tank. You will start to feel at ease and relax.

Photobucket

Basically there are 6 tanks altogether and we tried all of the tanks. We loved it. As you got out of the tank you can still feel the bites around your legs. It is not painful but it is somewhat something I would like to call relaxing.

Photobucket

All in all I would like to describe my first encounter with Dr. Fish as a good one, something I’d never forget and I guess since my family will be coming down to KL for my sister’s convocation in another few months, I think I basically know where to take them.

If go later in the day the fish already had alot of ‘dead skin’ for breakfast and lunch already, will they still nibble on your feet?

I used to try this during my trip to Langkawi. It was not famous yet, and FREE. So I think RM38 is quite pricey, haha~

I felt quite geli at the beginning but OK afterward, haha~
