Yes, it’s nothing less than ordinary - equally, no

126“Table For Two : Little Taiwan, Mid Valley”

posted by cibol on August 13th, 2008

You know how much I actually hate going to Mid Valley – Not because of the place is not interesting but more to the trouble that I have to face in order to go to that place. It is always super pack with people from all walks of life and backgrounds. The hassle of going to that place started as far as taking LRT from Pandan Indah and then to Chan Sow Lin, transit for Sri Petaling line and then another transit at Bandar Tasik Selatan for KTM to Mid Valley.

But lucky for us that day, it was Friday and it was not that many people as compared to the weekends. That is a good thing about shopping not on the weekends. It’s just like heaven.
We were enjoying ourselves shopping around because basically there were a lot of things to see and to try at the same time. Mid Valley itself has a lot to offer to shoppers who really dig all out for cheap branded goods. It’s a start of our shopping spree for us as Lily plans to raid the whole Mid Valley for shoes.

Hunting for shoes and shopping is always fun and also tiring at the same time. We braved our way through eventhough Lily’s feet were aching;

“These Carlo Rino heels are killing me” – so called branded pump ups!

Apparently she thinks that her left foot is a bit cacat. Somehow the heels just can’t fit nicely into it. So you can just imagine the unbearable pain that she endured during that long hours of shopping. God knows!

There is this one shop called “Why Pay More?” that I really wanted to take her to because she had been wanting to have nice new walking shoes. This is like the best place to shop for cheap branded sport shoes. They are the store to beat in terms of price. I bought a couple of shoes from that store back a few months ago, it’s worth it!

Along the way we were a little bit distracted by this small eating outlet called Little Taiwan. Heard of it? Well, to be honest with you I might have seen the outlets somewhere but I never really go in and eat in that place. I knew very little about this place. According to Lily Little Taiwan is one of famous food franchise in Taiwan where they are very famous for their chicken, noodles and ice cream.

Camwhore a bit

The next two superheroes?

By looking at the place I thought that this might be a good place for some quick bite or something. It was actually Lily who suggested the place, since she said that it’s quite a good place, she managed to persuade me to give it a try.

Busy days for the staffs

When we first step into the place it kind of gave us the impression that It’s going to be real hot and stuffy inside because of the place were just so full of people and we can’t hardly find a table for both of us but we managed to get ourselves a nice spot for just the two of us.

Surprisingly, it was not only chicken and ice cream that being served in this small outlet. Being a first timer to the place we were kind of a little bit lost when it comes to choosing the right food and so we leave that to the expert.

The menu - Nothing to shout about, really but it’s simple and easy to see

Pictures of their signature dishes on the wall

We managed to get the waitress to recommend us a few of their signature dishes. The pictures taken says it all. Although it is not really as good as it claims to be – I mean in terms of the food, there’s nothing really to shout about but I’d give it thumbs up for its nice food and friendly service.

The deep fried spicy chicken - quite okay, expected to be a bit oily but actually it looks dry outside but juicy inside. Those leaves give the chicken more aroma and its not curry leaves. Hurm,  anyone got any  idea whats leaves is it? :) Still it is super duper Yumyum

Steam rice with minced pork. Its one of the ‘most demand’ dishes in Little Taiwan as claimed by the waitress. Steaming makes the meat covered with rice fragrance. The rice soaked with pork essence to keep the rice moist. This hot dish served with half boiled egg and lotsa daun bawang (Dunno English name for this) Simple yet we love it!

The fried dumplings - I love fries! That far left is minced fish meat wrapped with soy bean skin. The taste  just nice, still in my opinion it would be better if use fresh fish :) From the right below, its pork stuffed with lots of escallion (daun bawang). Just one bite of it, I can just taste the moist texture mixed with saliva (Whoah, drooling! No kidding). Then the round round thingy is prawn with diced potatoes.

Take a peek! - Nice stuffs inside. I think it’s prawn

If you’re thinking of a quickie meal before watching movies, I’d recommend that you come to this place - A better option than the already super packed McDonalds.

Curi another bite before we go

And Blue Ocean to quench our thirst :D
