I must tell you that I really like the new layout and that is not because Nono told me that it really suits me but it is just because I like it so damn much!
I was about to delete my subscription to Nuffnang a few moments ago. I was thinking that maybe I just should let it go since I’m no longer blogging in a way. Now I have become a seasonal blogger that only blogs when I have the time to blog - That’s the way it should be. But to my surprise, I was shocked to see the amount I have in my nuffnang account. My 9 to 5 job salary is of course bigger than that but this, I said to myself is NOT bad at all. So, I decided to keep it. I rest my case against that one.
Recently I’ve been reading one cool magazine published by The Edge group called Personal Money. I like it very much. I’m a noob in this thing called financial planning and still sucks at it but I do think for a start by reading this mag I should have the extra boost in my sanity to act now about it. Managing money is really important especially for someone who had just stepped into the working world like me. It is mainly because - you just don’t want to step into the wrong shoe that in the end will make your whole life miserable.
You seen a lot of cases, you’ve heard a lot of stories, successfull and the uncessfull ones - of course nothing is as easy as what it says in the books. Now a lot of people will probably tell you when you started to talk about what you read something regarding financial planning, investment etc :
“Books are nothing, that’s not even practical. They can write anything just to sell those books”
Well, I’m not about to throw those books and magazines away because of what he said because personally for me it is better than being stupid and not knowing about it at all, it’s better than assuming that you a lot of things because you’ve done that, been there. Who knows what you did was a thing that I would like to call for the sake of doing it and you just got lucky. I mean pardon me for my refusal to believe and swallow what you’ve said but I need time to evaluate.
I need to do a lot of stuffs to improve myself. I really really need to. I attended a seminar by OSK and Bursa Malaysia last weekend and I think it was great although it was not the best that I’ve attended all these years but it’s free I have nothing to lose. I told myself, this is the time to kickstart everything for a better future.
Series of things that I need to do in the next couple of months :
1. Sit for the Personal Financial Planner exam
2. Sit for my Insurrance exam
3. Attend more talks and seminar
Ribuan-aire employee?

Er, I happened to read that magazine too. Ehe! Anyone who says reading is a waste of time is a moron.
Now, you sound like a man with direction. Great to hear that man!

November 7th, 2008 at 8:07 pmYes, go for courses. Even from the lousiest one, you may be able to learn something - even if it’s what NOT to do! And when you mingle with others in the same line and share ideas and experiences, that will also contribute towards learning.
I’m a non-grad but it was only by reading, going for courses and getting involved in all sorts of things even though it meant doing extra (and not getting paid for it) but it got me to where I was in the end.
Start young! I only had my first chance when I was already in my mid-30s. All the time buried and not given any opportunity.
